June 1st – hello! – and woah, cannot believe we are already into June; this year has flown by! I wanted to talk a little closet staples with you this Monday. Since the temps will start to rise, but for us working girls, we still need to look appropriate for the office, I wanted to talk a little more about this look. You may recall it previously here and here – I wore it when working on a project with Pier 1.

While I am fortunate enough to not need to be in crisp button-downs and skirts at work, some of you are. I highly advise investing in one or two silk blouses, that can easily transition you from work to evening. Equipment makes some of my favorites, and a little secret… you can find them often on excellent discount online at Neiman Marcus LastCall and The Outnet or even in-person sometimes at Marshalls or TJ Maxx! I am wearing the Equipment Signature Fit – it runs a little roomier, thus my sizing down to an XS. I also have a few Equipment blouses that are in the Equipment Slim Signature cut and are tailored to hug the body a tad more (I still wear an XS-Small in this cut).

The other thing I am huge on is investing in a great pair (maybe 2 pairs) of white pants during the warmer months. This Theory pair I’m wearing can pass as a little more dressy or casual due to the cotton material. I love white jeans, but it’s pretty hard to getaway with those in an office environment unless it’s casual Friday. Plus you’re in luck, I’ve found the Theory white cotton pants on MAJOR sale! But word to the shorter gals, I had to get mine hemmed by at least two inches, however it was totally worth it!

Also let’s not gloss over the accessories – a great bucket bag (love my Mansur Gavriel, but there are a lot of great looking ones out there that are rather similar!), some statement earrings a la Elaine Turner (under $100; wear them all the time!) and some stacked heel sandals (on sale at Elaine Turner!!), and you can do no wrong!
