Hi there friends! Happy 2016! Hope you and yours had a lovely long-weekend. I’m back and ready as ever to jump into this year and having you along for the ride here at Girl Wonder Life!

When it’s gloomy and cold outside I have a tendency to reach for the pieces in my closet that mimic the weather. Don’t get me wrong, I love a pop of color in winter and you can see examples of such here, here and here. However, there’s something about a monochromatic look during the winter that I seriously adore.

As I’ve said before, my boots are a serious splurge, but they’ve paid for themselves over and over again. I’m in my second winter with these Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots and they might just be some of the best boots I’ve ever owned.

There’s one thing about owning a pair of trendy boots, and there’s another which in my opinion is to invest in higher-quality pieces (when budget permits) because more often than not they will stay timeless. These Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots are just that.

Another piece in my wardrobe that I more often than not gravitate towards is a sturdy and classic handbag. My fog grey Elisabetta satchel has proved to be the perfect bag for running errands, carrying my laptop and planner along and kicking up the chic-ness in my everyday outfit.
