A little Home in Dubai

Hey y’all && welcome to Dubai! If you aren’t following along via social media or this is your first time on Girl Wonder Life, you may not know that the past week I’ve been in Dubai for the trip of a lifetime! Of course I couldn’t resist bringing a little home in Dubai with me – in the form of this Texas tee and Elaine Turner sneakers.

Of course, I’ve had to be the typical tourist during parts of our stay. Behind me in these photos is the Atlantis Hotel on The Palm – maybe it was just me, but I had no idea there was another Atlantis Hotel outside of The Bahamas.

It’s been toasty – at least 40 degrees Celsius each day (that’s 104 degrees Fahrenheit) but there’s a humidity factor here too, so really it feels like 110-115. Welcome to the Desert, right?!

Bringing along pieces of Texas on my travels was a no brainer. My Home T tank reminds me of home but also serves as a fun conversation starter here in the UAE. Plus it’s so soft and great for staying cool in the heat. A little home in Dubai with me is just what I needed to keep me from missing Texas like crazy.

So far I’ve seen the gorgeous Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, checked out some of the amazing malls, eaten the most lavish brunch to ever exist and today we’re headed to the Burj Al Khalifa, also known as the tallest building in the world! More to come on all of these places soon!

One of my favorite Houston-based designers, Elaine Turner makes these way cool slip on sneakers that I wore on the plane (see here) and have found myself naturally gravitating back to them whenever we are doing some walking.
