With October right around the corner, and fall officially here (even if it’s just the calendar saying so, not the weather), it’s time to get into a new mindset in terms of our closet and clothing decisions. I still plan on mixing trends into my wardrobe this coming fall, including a-symmetrical silhouette tops and high-waisted denim.
In partnership with my friends at Marks & Spencer, I’ve put together my own take on a chic and classic look for fall. Quite honestly, I’d wear this outfit all year around weather permitting. But the fresh take on the a-symmetrical silhouette top with its subtle polka dots and ruffled sleeves make for a statement piece that will definitely have people asking, ‘where can I buy that top?’ and don’t we all love the flattering feeling that comes with such a question?
I love adding on-trend pieces into my closet, but I don’t necessarily like to pay a hefty price-tag for them. At M&S, you can find so many on-trend items, like this one-shoulder top, for a great price that doesn’t sacrifice quality. I know I’ll get so much wear out of this swiss dot top, and already plan to wear it dressed up for work events with a pair of black pixie pants and black heels.
You won’t find me entering fall without a great pair of high-waisted jeans. In the fall, I think we all gravitate more towards dark washed denim, too. As a petite gal, I usually have a hard time finding the perfect high-waist jean. But M&S did it again, and introduced me to their high-waist black jeans that sit nicely on my waist and pull everything in too.
I like breaking up an all-black ensemble with neutral accessories, but you can also add a color pop with a bright bag, pair of heels of statement bag too. I’m looking forward to seeing where these trends, the a-symmetrical silhouette top and high-waisted denim will take me into fall!
