Anniversary Style with David’s Bridal

Hard to believe Rick and I will be celebrating our one-year anniversary come January 14th. The saying is so cliché, but time really flies when you’re having fun! We’re planning to do a relaxing staycation and a dressed up dinner to celebrate. I recently went on the hunt for a fun dress, and found the perfect occasion pieces at David’s Bridal.

If you recall our engagement photos (see here), I wore a classic white lace shift dress from David’s Bridal that fit perfect and will forever remain timeless. While on the hunt for different dresses both during our engagement and for bridesmaids, I found out that David’s Bridal also offers a great occasion line fitting for many of life’s special moments.

With our anniversary right around the corner, I called ahead to make an appointment at our local David’s Bridal and went in one morning to try on a few looks suitable for our one-year anniversary dinner.

We’re planning on doing something dressy to mark the occasion, and while dinner is a surprise, I do know that I need to be dressed up. My stylist, Suzanne, was so sweet and at the ready to help me find what I need. After I brought her up to speed on our plans and what I was looking for, she directed me to a few different areas in the store. To my surprise there are a lot of occasion pieces at David’s Bridal to choose from!

Ultimately I chose to take to the fitting room, a long black & gold gown, a lace high-low short dress and a two-piece ivory jumpsuit.

It’s funny, because I’ve talked to a lot of women who have said ‘they’ve just known’ when picking out their wedding dress, engagement party dresses, special occasion dresses, etc. that it’s ‘the one’. Quite frankly, both the high-low champagne/ivory lace dress and the lace two-piece pantsuit were perfect. I loved each for their fit and style. The great price points didn’t hurt either!

The high-low lace dress required a few alterations, which David’s Bridal can complete in store. But since it didn’t fit just right on the spot, I decided to go ahead and try on the two-piece number. They’d just received it in-store and had yet to see a client try it on yet.

Let me just tell y’all, never, since my wedding dress, have I felt so confident and sexy in a special occasion piece. Every single person in the store was floored by how great it looked on. My stylist laced it up and I knew right away, I was sold. The ivory lace plays to the bride aspect, but it’s totally different than the wedding dress I wore a year ago on January 14th. I had two really great options for occasion pieces at David’s Bridal, with a tough decision ahead! 

To say I was thrilled with the pantsuit is an understatement, and chose it right then and there for our anniversary dinner. I came to David’s Bridal that morning, thinking I’d pick out a pretty long dress to celebrate our one-year wedding anniversary, and left with a gorgeous jumpsuit that will be special for our anniversary dinner, but also wearable for so many other occasions.
