To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t too sure I could pull off the bandana neck tie trend. I’d seen quite a few girls wearing it last year at South by Southwest, and the music festivals, but never actually took the plunge. When I recently hosted an event with Madewell, the girls got me to try the trend.

It’s something that I definitely won’t be sporting all the time, but the bandana neck tie is definitely a fun twist on an otherwise rather normal outfit for me. I like the idea of making a choker out of it for a more edgy look.
A trend I can totally stand behind is definitely the bell sleeved top. This top is one of my favorites. The crepe fabric is a substantial weight, perfect for the fall transition. It comes in two other colors and is also currently on sale!
I felt inspired to tag team my bell sleeves and the bandana neck tie trends together when we shot this look, among others, in The Heights.
For my Houstonian readers, you know The Heights I hope. Such a great neighborhood; I especially love 19th Street filled with quirky delights, unique shops and good restaurants. I’ve always wanted to shoot in front of this subtle wall art, and was happy to finally get to this time around.
