Coffee Talk // Volume 1

Good morning, friends! It’s been a little radio silent over here, but for good reason. I’ve been working on a lot of brainstorming and different things to bring to the table here at girlwonderlife.com. One of these things is a regular weekly feature, I thought something along the lines of ‘Coffee Talk’ because I’m most certainly the type on Monday who sits with their coffee and peruses blogs and my go-to websites before diving into work.

So here is Volume 1 of Coffee Talk, where I’ll share things I’ve been reading, what I’ve been doing over the last few days, life updates and even things I’m loving or currently shopping.

Let’s jump right into the life updated. As y’all know, I became Mrs. Haines just a little over a month ago. We went on our honeymoon, which was amazing (content to come soon), returned home and jumped right back into real life. That being said, we thought we would be moving to Austin for Rick’s business and got extremely close to finding a home, etc. then the deal completely blew up and we ended up back at square one.

To say we had both mentally prepared ourselves for moving and getting excited about being in Austin together, as newlyweds, is an understatement. So when everything hit the fan, it was a bit of a shock to us all and understandably we had to reconvene and figure out what was next.

Nothing is really changing for Girl Wonder Life, at least for the time being! ABA will remain based in Houston, which is were it’s been established and grown. All our friends are here, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their love and support through all of this craziness.

But the most exciting part, is we are soon-to-be homeowners! Rick, #LucytheTerriermix and I will be moving into a home, perfect for us, in the next few weeks and we couldn’t be more excited. So expect some really fun shake-ups when it comes to content around here. Definitely more posts on our newlywed life, tips and tricks for the first year, decorating and making your first home yours, etc. I can’t wait and hope you’re excited to follow along on the journey too!

Now for things I’m loving:

– We’ve been doing a lot, and I mean a lot, of looking at furniture. Rick has been an absolute trooper and wanted to partake in the process too. This last weekend we went everywhere in search of dining room chairs. Last night 45 minutes before they closed, we actually stumbled upon these wing-armed, upholstered chairs at Restoration Hardware.

– I’m not sure what I am doing in my office, but I do know I’ll be using my crisp white x-footed desk. I’ll be looking at some of my favorites, Lulu & Georgia, One Kings Lane and some accessories at Pottery Barn.

– Be sure to read this InStyle article on Elizabeth Olsen and her volunteering endeavors. As a 90s child, I loved the Olsen twins, so to read about their younger sister and her success is pretty cool.

– I just recently snagged these super cool metallic slip-on loafers (see photo here) and am in love. Other things in my cart include, this pair of pink ombre drop earrings and this cute little off the shoulder eyelet top.
