Hi friends, how are you? I sit writing this latest coffee talk during my travels to Las Vegas. I’m drinking a rather tasty vanilla soy milk latte, and hope you’re enjoying some coffee or tea as well. It’s been awhile, so let’s jump right into chatting.
Where to begin? The last coffee talk I posted was back on February 14th! So sorry I haven’t been as diligent about posting these chats. When I first started the series, I felt like I had a lot to talk about each and every week, however I’ve clearly not been the best with keeping up on these chats – to be honest I was having a hard time coming up with what to talk about as each week went on 🙂
If you’ve been following along here, then you’ve no doubt seen that I’ve been traveling a bit this spring. The hubby and I had the opportunity to ski two more times in Lake Tahoe – once in North Star with my mom and just last week in Squaw Valley again. You can find my comprehensive Squaw Valley travel guide here.
I’ve always loved skiing, but only went once a season here and there. It was fun to ski not once but three times this season, because it reinforced good habits and definitely helped me to feel more comfortable in the sport. Rick is much better than me, but I can definitely do greens with great expertise and blue runs here and there. I felt much more confident in blues until I got severely stuck in some fresh powder back at North Star, and let’s just say my confidence levels in my skiing went way down!
We came back home last week from skiing and I immediately unpacked and repacked up for a mother-daughter trip to Las Vegas. Switching from cold weather to extremely warm weather was tricky, but better to do it now rather than later. It’s downright hot here in Las Vegas. I spent the last two days at the pool, but laying out is a little bit miserable… Plus, maybe it’s just me, but I get a little bored laying out by myself. Anyone else agree?
I can’t believe it’s already May! Time to switch gears and start thinking about summer. I’ve got a few weeks back at home (so excited!) then I’m jetting off again in early June to Orange County and then up to San Francisco to see my dad and little brother. That’ll be just the beginning of my summer travels, but I’ll definitely keep y’all up to date as I go. You can always get a better look into my day-to-day happenings over on Instagram.
Meanwhile, here on the blog, I’ve been exploring a little more lifestyle content. What do you think? I’ve been posting a few different pieces that feature home decor, party ideas and recipes. You can see the latest, including my Mother’s Day tablescape and Hibiscus Lime cocktails. Is there anything more you’d like to see? I’m definitely enjoying sharing a little more lifestyle and a little less outfits. But I can tell y’all love to see the outfits based off my backend analytics. Would love to hear from you, tell me your thoughts in the comments!
Now for a few things that I’m loving and/or shopping as of late:
– Did you see any of Monday night’s looks from the 2018 Met Gala? I found the theme to be… interesting. But, I do enjoy seeing people’s interpretations of it via their outfits. The standouts for me where Blake Lively and J.Lo by a mile, but perhaps you have a difference of opinion? Take a look at some of the other celebs and their outfits in this Met Gala Red Carpet round-up.
– I’ve been loving the latest at . I’ve picked up a few pieces this spring and love them. I recently grabbed this darling , and received so many compliments. I love their , as they have different inseam lengths, perfect for us shorties! And I grabbed these in pink and navy; I know they’ll be perfect for spring, summer and through the fall.
– I’ve been all about the budget-friendly statement earrings as of late. They’re such a fun and easy way to add a pop to an outfit. I recently received a pair of turquoise beaded hoop earrings, , and know I’ll be wearing them so much this summer. I’ve personally had my eye on this pair of bold and these in white or turquoise.
