Just in time for Christmas (can’t believe it’s almost here!!!), sharing my subtly festive Christmas dining tablescape. I knew I didn’t want to have a red and green explosion in my dining room, and wanted to keep things classic and chic, and I’m thrilled with how the tablescape turned out.
You might remember my Thanksgiving tablescape, featured last month on the blog. I realized I truly enjoyed working on the tablescape and decided to try my hand at one fit for the Christmas holiday.
Our dining room is anchored by an Ikat royal blue rug, so adding in traditional Christmas colors proved to initially be a bit tricky. I found these plaid Christmas napkins at Pottery Barn, that have a subtle blue pinstripe and knew that’d be how I’d tie it all together.
But to be honest, I initially struggled with putting together this festive Christmas dining tablescape. I couldn’t find a runner I loved, and really didn’t want to opt for a table cloth because I love showing the dining room table in some capacity, as it’s one of my favorite pieces in our home. I ended up finding this gold linen runner at Cost Plus and it was worth the hunt!
The metallic gold of the table runner, ultimately helped me decided on the remaining components of my tablescape. For the first time since our receiving, I pulled out our wedding china. I still love it almost two years later!
When registering, I ultimately settled on this Vera Wang Wedgwood china because I knew it would remain timeless for many decades to come.
To tie in my Christmas decor, it only seemed natural to add in some Christmas greenery. Plus, I jump at whatever chance I get to use fresh greens during the holiday season – I absolutely love the smell.
Keeping with the natural vibe of my festive Christmas dining tablescape, I opted for some height with bottlebrush Christmas trees for part of the centerpieces. And added pinecone napkin rings to tie the natural look all together.
Ever since I was a little girl, we always have had Christmas poppers at our place settings for Christmas. Apparently they’re a European tradition, but they’ve always been a great conversation starter and so fun to open at the end of the meal. They usually have fun little goodies inside, too.
This Christmas I’m in charge of desserts! I’ve decided on making a butterscotch trifle and an Apple pie. Fingers crossed my chef skills go well. Merry early Christmas to you and yours! xx
