Floral and Stripe Pattern Mixing

Oh these April showers here in Houston. I feel like they happen a lot, so I’ve had to up my outfit game plans for dressing in rain gear, while still looking chic. But thanks to my friends at Joules, who just recently landed in Dillard’s, looking cute in the rain has never been easier and my love for floral and stripe pattern mixing can reach a whole new threshold!

Haven’t heard of Joules? Let’s say they’re a darling mix of all things girly and classic from across the pond (the UK) and I’m pretty much obsessed with all their pieces. I’m beyond impressed with the quality and fit of their items. I’ve decided I need this in all three color ways. The fabric is thick and substantial, sometimes white striped dresses may be see through, but not this one! And the length is perfect for this 5’3 gal! I do recommend sizing up one size from your usual dress size.

I’ve always opted for traditional, non-colorful rain jackets as more of a piece that I can wear with everything. But then, I always thinking about how drab and dreary rainy days are in Houston and feel like we should all switch out our boring rain jackets for something like what I’m wearing instead. I absolutely love the floral and stripes pattern mixing. I took my usual size in the jacket and it fits perfectly. I know I’ll be wearing it a lot more this spring and will be receiving tons of compliments.

Lastly, no chic rainy day outfit is complete without a darling pair of rain boots. Well Joules has also got you covered in this department, as their rubber boots are so fun! I couldn’t resist this navy pair with the unexpected preppy, grosgrain ribbon touch on the back. They’re comfortable and perfect for splashing through those puddles.
