For those who know me it’s no secret that I have a weakness for stationery and hand written notes. I had the opportunity to get to know the gal behind the brand, Lara, and would love to share a little about her and Sweet Bella with y’all!
What was the thinking behind Sweet Bella and the story behind your adorable name?
Sweet Bella Stationery came to life after the birth of our first child, Isabella. It was important to my husband and I to care for her from home. I took a leave of absence from my teaching position and opened up on Etsy. Four years later, and another little one, we are busier than ever and as happy as can be! The name ‘Sweet Bella’ came from our daughter, Isabella who truly is sweet. 🙂
Where do you find inspiration?
Life is busy with a business and two little ones, but I find that my mind races with ideas as I fall asleep at night. I keep a little journal by my bed to write down thoughts. I’ve learned to look at adventures in my day as inspiration, and I love to browse magazines for color ideas as well.
In this day and age, what does a hand written note on a lovely piece of stationary, such as yours, mean to you?
As the times move towards sending an invite though email or a ‘thank you’ on Facebook, it motivates me more to keep designing stationery to be sent in the mail. Everyone loves to receive a special card or fun invitation in their mailbox. Opening a colorful envelope, looking at the beautiful design on the cover and reading a special note will always be a more sincere way to send your thoughts and gratitude.
