What girl doesn’t love to get dress up in a fun little flouncy number on the weekends?! We had a surprise black-tie optional birthday dinner on Saturday, and since I didn’t have time to pick out a gown and get it altered, I opted for this summery little number à la Rory Beca for the evening’s festivities. Since it’s summer and the temps are starting to rise, I figured I could get away with the length and color, right?

Lately I’ve been opting for simplicity in my accessorizing, over my usual arm party-liciousness (and now I’m making up words… but I digress), and I’ve found myself gravitating more often than not to my Sun & Stone bangle. It’s such a statement piece, yet subtle at the same time. Easy to dress up and down, as seen in this previous post. I also love how it can be worn up high on my arm for a different look than my usual bracelets or stacked amongst other bangles for a fun look.

Now tell me, what sort of accessorizing do you usually opt for when dressing up?
Also for my Houston gals, the Susan G. Komen Houston annual Impact Awards Luncheon is on June 17 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, and this year someone with a panache for fashion and hilarious jabs and jokes will be speaking… Joan Rivers!
