To be perfectly honest, I’ve never been a huge Valentine’s Day celebrator. I like the pastel colors and sweet treats, but that’s about it. But when it comes to excuses to get together with my gal-pals and create a fun and indulgent gathering, I’m all for it! Just in time for all the heart week celebrations, let’s chat how to throw a low-key Galentine’s Day Gathering.
In my opinion, a great Galentine’s celebration only needs two things, tasty beverages and sweet treats. The former is easy to procure in the form of champagne or wine, but the latter can sometimes take a little more effort.
When I do gatherings at my house, I like to setup a dessert buffet to house all my sweets in one place. Perhaps you remember this previous holiday dessert buffet, where you can find some helpful tips on how to create a dessert buffet.
Simply put, a great gathering of the gals, just needs a place to gather around and goodies for all. So here are a few simple tricks to follow when putting together your own low-key Galentine’s Day gathering!

How to throw a low-key Galentine’s Day gathering
Text and call your girlfriends to invite them over!
In case you didn’t know, Galentine’s Day is February 13th. Celebrate your girlfriends and take the time to catch up over some bubbly and tasty desserts, or perhaps have a pajama party where you catch up on some much loved episodes of Gossip Girl or re-watch Netflix’s Cheer! Whatever you decided to do to celebrate, first step is to get your crew committed to coming over for a Galentine’s Day gathering.
#Decorgoals
I’m personally not one to deck my house out in tons of holiday decorations unless it’s Christmas. But that doesn’t mean I won’t take those extra steps to decorate for a fun Galentine’s party! I’m a huge flower lover, and really if you’re going to do anything, just put together some pretty, girly flower arrangements. Flowers in pinks, purples and whites will definitely kick any gathering up a notch. This year I did a variety of flower arrangements and jars filled with candy hearts – simple, yet tasteful! A bar cart is a great way to also kick up your decor game, and usually I’ll decorate it for different holidays. I grabbed my a few years ago, and just take care to store it well and it’s held up! Some pretty plates and champagne flutes (I’m in love with this from Anthropologie), add sophisticated, but still easy to throw together, touches!

A signature cocktail or drink
Whether you do something easy, like these cute single serve champagne bottles or create a signature cocktail, here’s your chance to make sure your drinks are pretty in pink! I picked up the single serving bottles of champagne at my local liquor store and also had a bottle of 2016 Cuvaison Brut Rosé on hand for additional drinks. I created a signature cocktail, too. Stay tuned! Regardless of what you and your gal-pals are drinking, it’ll sure be a moment to toast in celebration!

Desserts, both homemade and store bought
My grandmother was always the type of person who made almost everything, but in today’s day and age where we are always constantly on the go, I like to pick and choose what I make homemade and what I buy at the store. Chocolate is always a winner come Valentine’s Day, so I opted to make some homemade chocolate covered fruit (I did strawberries and Pineapples) along with some dipped biscuit cookies. I had intentions to make homemade cookies, but the delicious, and oh so sugary sugar cookies with frosting from my neighborhood Kroger are my kryptonite! If there’s a gathering to grab them for, I do it! You could also very easily throw together a charcuterie board filled with different savory or sweet munchies. I’ve got a post on how to create the perfect charcuterie board, be sure to check it out!
