Well it was cool enough in Houston for 2.5 seconds to wear some sweaters and boots (haha!), however forecasters are pointing to a cool front rolling in and I’m so excited! I love layering during the fall and winter months. Why not take a two different separated and layer them together? Enter the chambray dress layered with a sweater.
I took two seriously reasonable separates in my closet, the ever easy chambray shirt dress and this fuzzy sweater (currently on sale!) and layered the two. I’m personally thinking this might make for the perfect Thanksgiving outfit, thoughts? Enough room to eat all the sweet potatoes and pie known to man and no need to unbutton a pair of jeans!
With Veterans’ Day just yesterday, I wanted to share the really cool story behind this bag. R. Riveter is an amazing line of goods made in the USA by servicemen and women’s spouses. With the difficulty that often comes with serving our country, including moving around the world, R. Riveter has created a means of mobile and flexible income for military spouses. Using upcycled goods to create their products such as old military duffle bags or equipment. Each bag is dyed and assembled by a specific military spouse who will mark their number and location of assembly on the tag. This special bag of mine was assembled at Fort Bragg!
I’ve gotten so many questions about this simple, yet super awesome bag and simply love telling the story behind it. At just $120, this R. Riveter Signature Patton crossbody makes for an amazing holiday gift that gives back! I highly recommend checking out R. Riveter for many holiday gift ideas that give back.
Meanwhile, I’ll be taking this little number with me for the weekend in Waco, where I’m headed to my boyfriend Rick’s, alma-mater, Baylor, for the OU vs. Baylor game. I may or may not negotiate a trip to the new Magnolia Silos (Chip & Joanna Gaines are my favorite from HGTV) in exchange for some potentially cold football weather!
P.S. don’t forget, I kicked off my holiday gift guides earlier this week with a guide of gift ideas for the gals. I’ve also got a bunch of holiday ideas on the top bar of my blog – for him, the kiddos, under $100 and more – be sure to check them all out!
