Bright Like a Diamond

Cheers to spring, y’all! It’s finally about that time to store our sweaters and swap out the pants for easy skirts and flowy dresses. At the same time too, adding a few new pieces to a wardrobe is always a must-do. Next month, Rick and I are headed to Mexico for a destination wedding. He’s in the wedding party so no need for him to worry about what to wear, but I’ve been wanting to find a spring dress that’s both bright and colorful for a beach wedding. Yet, I also knew that I wanted it to be a dress that I could wear time and time again.

I’ve always loved Mara Hoffman for her exaggerated patterns and prints with pops of color that make you smile. The moment I came across this dress, I knew it had to be mine. I just adore the little peek-a-boo cutout back, playing on the diamond shapes, and the wrap-tie makes things oh-so-flattering! But let’s be real, I also have my eye on this shift dress and this striped romper for summer.

The search for the entire outfit didn’t end there, of course I needed to snag a great pair of heels that would pair nicely for dinner after the ceremony on the beach.

Block-heels are one of my favorite things because comfort is a factor and who doesn’t want that?! I found these Steve Madden heels in a neutral beige initially, but noticed how many color options both Steve Madden and Zappos carried. What also sealed the deal on the heels for me, is how much mustard yellow I saw on the New York Fashion Week runways last month!
