In case you haven’t already noticed (maybe you’re a new reader to Girl Wonder Life, if so, welcome!), I have an affinity for (rather I just really like) mixing high and low-priced items. When the temperatures begin to cool off and the days become shorter, it’s only natural to begin reaching for closet neutrals for fall.
On the high-end of the spectrum is my Vince sleeveless sweater, suede leggings and Celine trapeze purse. I chose to style this look as a splurge, showing that you can invest in one to three high-priced items that can be worn together or mixed and matched within a wardrobe. On the lower price point side are my shoes, earrings and scarf.
My grandmother always said, it doesn’t matter where you purchase things, but how you wear them. I wore these Nolita drop earrings from Bauble Bar to a rehearsal dinner this past weekend, and so many people thought they were extremely expensive statement earrings, when in fact they’re under $35!
People, if there’s one style-tip I can give you, it’s this, don’t be afraid that your scarf or shoes aren’t the biggest and best designer, because quite frankly, no one will know but you as to where those pieces are actually from! Wear them with confidence and if you have the ability to mix with high-end pieces then even better.
As for me, you can click on all the links above and find out each item’s price and where they are from, but I kind of like that you know I’m mixing high and low-end and allowing for you, my awesome readers, to understand that there are pieces out there that are worth investing in and others that are duped and look just like the x amount of dollars for the super pricey pair without the hefty price tag!
