For me one thing that makes me feel totally confident in the morning is a blowout. DreamDry is one of my favorites in NYC, so I didn’t miss out on the opportunity for a blowout during NYFW.
Sunday was a gorgeous day in the city. The temps felt like fall and the sun was out and shining bright. I had a pretty jam-packed day on Sunday (what a surprise, but no complaining here!) and knew I needed some morning fuel to make it through the day of shows and some fun parties. Brunch was at the most adorable little find (thanks Yelp!) called Petite Abeille. The waffles were phenomenal, the eggs benedict looked so yummy and I saw someone order smoked salmon and toast (one of my brunch favorites), so I know I need to make it back to try more.
Comfort was also key for my busy day, and I still wanted to get a little lift from heels, so I wore a pair with a platform (a definite must if you’re looking for a heel that still packs in the comfort). After brunch I headed over to the Rachel Zoe presentation, but not before getting snapped by Cosmopolitan and being interviewed by one of their contributors.
There are always photographers hanging out in front of the major venue spaces. It’s super easy to get intimidated by them, but I like to pretend really that they aren’t there. Especially when I’m walking up to a show alone, plus I’ve been told the photos look that much more natural. You can see my street style snap in Cosmo’s round-up here.
This top was a serious find. It was so comfortable for the day and I just loved the pop of color to contrast with the gorgeous morning going on in NYC. Better yet, it’s less than $20 and comes in the color I’m wearing and a lighter shade as well.
I won’t lie, I’ve always been a tad weary about ordering from overseas based companies with much cheaper price points – will the quality be good?; how long will the shipping take?; etc. But I had a really great experience with SheIn and would definitely recommend it to others. Just make sure you do your due-dilligence and read up on the sizing, measurements, etc. I am on the fine line between a small and a medium in some of their pieces, and I kind of view these items as non-returnable (even though they are), simply because the return shipping goes back overseas.
