Dress (vintage, similar here & here) // Jacket // Sneakers // Purse (budget-friendly version) // Sunglasses // Earrings // Ring (on sale!) // Watch // Bracelet
For those of you who are regular readers of Girl Wonder Life, you might notice this is a serious step outside my wardrobe comfort-zone box. But, when at New York Fashion Week, amp up the street style game, right?!
My friends at Cheeky Vintage (last seen here & here) helped me find this insane sequin dress, affectionately referred to now by both my mom and boyfriend as the Mardi Gras dress. I knew one day I would want to wear the Miss Stan Smith Adidas sneakers I picked up in Dubai to rest my feet from heels, and figured this would be the look to pair them with. It was a risk, and it paid off.
I went for it even more when I met with Tresemme inside the tents for a hair appointment and my stylist suggested something super edgy and again out of my comfort zone. I cannot tell you how many compliments I received on my look once my hair was done.
While I may not wear this look everyday, and it may be more appropriately suited for the concrete jungle, I am so glad I took a fashion risk and went outside of my comfort zone at NYFW. That’s what fashion is all about!
Have you taken any fashion risks lately that you’re proud of?
