Happy Monday, friends! How was your weekend? Mine was definitely relaxing, and I got to catch up with my good friend, Lauren, over breakfast & coffee at Tout Suite plus we got a little blog work done too! It is so hot and humid here so I am 100% embracing the off the shoulder trend in this adorable off the shoulder chambray dress.

I really love this dress, it’s soft and cool to wear while running errands and hopping in and out of meetings. Those who frequently read ABA know that this trend has been a favorite this summer (see here and here). Plus this off the shoulder chambray dress doubles as a fun beach and pool coverup too.

But not all fashion choices come equally received by my fiancé Rick, who told me it looked like a dress someone would’ve worn in the 1800s. This isn’t the first time we’ve had discussions on my clothing choices, see the last outfit in question here.

I hope you aren’t sitting here thinking, “wow, Alex gives Rick a lot of say in her clothing choices” or “sounds like he’s overbearing” – definitely not what I am trying to portray! My soon-to-be #InstagramHusband is just a little opinionated, but don’t worry I’ve learned to let it go in one ear and out the other; especially after talking to fellow blogger friends who have similar stories to share about their boyfriends or hubbies.

Regardless, the off the shoulder chambray dress is here to stay!

These Sole Society strappy sandals have been some of my favorites this summer. Clocking in at under $70 the block mid-heel is perfect for a little height, without paining my feet in the process. They come in two other neutral colors, green and black, making each pair totally wearable all the way through the fall season.
