Whenever I make it for a relaxing weekend at my family’s ranch, one of my favorite things to use is the panini press. I love to experiment with different ingredients, but this time around I opted for a classic. Prosciutto may quite possibly be one of my favorite foods… no joke I never get sick of it. So this time I stuck with a prosciutto, cheese and grilled bell pepper panini, and let me just say it was quite delicious!
Panini pressed
First mix olive oil and italian herbs and brush this rub of sorts on to the slices of bread
Meanwhile, grill the bell peppers for 3-5 minutes
Choose your sandwich fillers… I opted for prosciutto, freshly sliced Jarlsberg cheese and grilled red bell peppers
Now your sandwich is ready to be pressed! I usually keep mine in for seven minutes or so, but it’s best to keep an eye on it and judge for the perfect golden crispness
Dipping the final product in balsamic vinegar is a weakness of mine
Bon appetit!
