These last few months, we’ve had more rain than you could imagine. That’s why investing in the perfect spring rain jacket is an absolute must in the south!
Rain jacket c/o // Striped tee // Denim // Belt (similar here) // Flats // Sunglasses // Earrings
All this dreary weather has me dreaming of warmer temperatures and sunny skies. I’ve been trying to interject more pops of color in my wardrobe and have been getting quite a bit of wear out of this classic Barbour rain jacket (see my other Barbour coat, the Beadnell, here). Not only is the color fun, but the jacket is easy to style and wear.
The thing about rainy days in Houston, is that they’re usually wet AND steamy. The humidity from the gulf, mixed in with the rainy weather makes it warm and sticky. For spring showers, I like to opt for a lightweight layer that will keep me dry from the showers when I’m doing errands or heading into meetings.
And unlike a trench coat, this perfect spring rain jacket has a hood, which is a huge necessity here in Texas. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten caught out in the rain and been so grateful for the hood on my rain jacket, a hair lifesaver!
On the topic of mixing in more color into my wardrobe, I’ve been wearing this striped tee non-stop, too. It’s the perfect weight and wears super well. It tends to be on sale for under $40 every week, if not more. The tees also come in a few other colors, and I’m thinking I need every color because I can’t resist a good stripe!

That’s such a cute jacket! I definitely was not expecting me to like it because I’ve always disliked green but I’m really loving it now and the way you styled it makes it look really pretty.

I’m usually not a serious green person either, but I figured the combo of pink helps to make it a little more feminine! Glad you like, thanks for stopping by! xo
