Who’s ready for Thanksgiving? I’m not going to lie and say that as I’ve gotten older, Thanksgiving has become a holiday I’ve appreciated more. Not only have I grown to like the food better – um, sweet potatoes and green beans anyone? (You haven’t lived unless you’ve had my family’s… just saying) But I’ve also learned the meaning of Thanksgiving and have come to really appreciate the time with my family and how blessed my life has been.
We’re spending this Thanksgiving out at our family’s farm in Cat Spring, and even though it’s a country setting, we usually dress up for the day and meal. For me comfort and warmth is key – enter a chambray shirt dress (the one I’m wearing is actually a tunic, but long enough to be a dress!) that’s easy to slip on and my trusty blanket scarf. I snatched this one up when it was still 90 degrees here in Houston, and quickly grabbed two more for my grandmother and cousin, because they loved it so much! It’s been fun experimenting ways to tie my blanket scarf, this Pinterest post has been a guide for me lately. This holiday, over the knee boots are a must for me. Especially when I wear dresses, my legs tend to get cold, so the taller the boot, the better.
PS: If you’re still in need of the perfect boot for Thanksgiving and other important dates this holiday season, then hop on over to Shopbop where they’re having a 25% off select boots flash-sale.
