During Fashion Week I had the opportunity to visit the NYC Kendra Scott showroom, which for this huge Kendra fan was rather exciting. Beyond the usual suspects of Danielle, Elle earrings and Rayne necklaces were two collections that were divine.
First we got a closer look at the current Avant Garden collection. While it may have been freezing and snowing outside, this collection had me dreaming of spring, with pastels and dainty pieces, floral nodes and beautiful details. Some of my favorites were the lavender-blue tinted stones; I mean what kind of gorgeous statement pieces are these Kaki Baguette Earrings?! Beyond the pastels were some great everyday pieces, metal stud earring sets that you might never take off, ear jackets with a twist or stackable bracelets that become conversation starters. I fell in love with the Yasmin hand chain – such a cool piece that serves as two different pieces, a bracelet and a rung; perfect stacked amongst other bracelets, but even more perfect on its own in as it truly speaks for itself.

After trying and fawning over multiple pieces, we moved on to the upcoming summer collection (see it here first!) from Kendra, inspired by her travels to Mexico, the Via Maya collection is without a doubt my most favorite collection Kendra Scott has debuted thus far. Maybe it’s the Latina in me, but I just loved the mixed metals, the attention to detail with pieces that draw from the sun, pyramids and even bits of wildlife like the Eagle or Jaguar.
Kendra was personally inspired by The City of Dawn – Tulum, Mexico (somewhere I am dying to go to soon) for this latest collection. Drawing from the bright colors we so commonly see amongst Mexican culture, the Via Maya collection is an explosion of color juxtaposed by gunmetal and sparkling drusy for contrast, just like the jungles inland and the turquoise depths of the ocean.
It’s hard for me to even decide what I want first, because quite frankly, I want it all. There really wasn’t a piece I wasn’t fond of. From the colorful stones, the brightly colored pieces and detailed filigree, I was loving every bit. I especially loved the dainty yet eye-catching ivory ear-cuffs pictured above. After a dreary winter, I’ve got to say I am ready for some color in my life and this collection will do just that!
Until the Via Maya collection arrives April 15th, be sure to shop the latest of the Avant Garden collection in stores and online!
