How many weddings do you have this spring and summer? I feel like I always get into a rut when I’m trying to decide what to wear to a wedding. I’ve teamed up with my blogger-pal Emily of Dear Serendipity to bring you each of our takes on what to wear to a summer wedding! (See Emily’s post here)
For me, I want to wear something that’s comfortable and flattering, but I also don’t want to steal any of the bride’s thunder. With that being said, I usually opt for a trusty sheath dress. It’s a go-to for me when it comes to a summer wedding, plus staying cool!
This navy lace overlay sheath dress is the perfect spring & summer wedding. Not only is the navy color classic, but also subtle.
My summer wedding look instead gets a playful pop in the form of a pair of statement-making heels. Instead of immediately drawing attention to myself with a dress I’m wearing, I feel more comfortable with a pair of super bright and colorful heels because, well… they’re floor level.
Give me a moment to explain. Shoes make a statement, but often more than not, it’s not an immediate statement like a hat might make. People need to take a few minutes to get a look at what you’re wearing usually before they notice your shoes. So I personally choose to make a statement with a great pair of heels for a summer wedding. Then I keep things classic in a simple sheath dress and clutch.
How do you tackle the task of dressing for a spring & summer wedding? Do you have a specific dress that is always a go-to?
